Who We Are
First Gen Energy Solutions, Inc. (FGES) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Gen Corporation (First Gen) created to maximize opportunities under the liberalization of the Philippine power market towards Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA). First Gen envisions FGES as a vehicle to help expand the customer base and the market segments that First Gen serves by delivering innovative and value-added solutions that transcend traditional power supply contracts.
FGES holds a Retail Electricity Supplier (RES) license, which was granted in February 2008, and renewed in May 2011. It is backed by First Gen’s portfolio of reliable, clean, and renewable energy resources, which include natural gas, geothermal, hydropower, solar and wind power. FGES is the only RES in the Philippines with a 100.0% clean and renewable portfolio.
It is also a registered participant in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). The company’s experience and market expertise allow FGES to structure value-adding power supply contracts that maximize customer benefits through an optimum energy mix.
FGES closely collaborates with its customers to understand their business needs. This allows FGES to develop innovative solutions that offer real and added value to their specific power problems. Value Add Services
The type of VAS programs implemented would depend on a customer’s particular needs. These needs are determined by FGES through customer focus group discussions and surveys conducted at least once a year. Examples of VAS programs that have already been conducted by FGES for customers of its affiliates include seminars on succession planning, linemen training, and energy efficiency programs, among others.
